Aangan's menu is long: 126 dishes across 18 sections. That is good news if your table can never agree, and a little daunting the first time you open it. This guide walks through the menu section by section so you can order with confidence.
If you came for karahi
The Chicken Curry section has 15 dishes, and the karahis lead it: classic Chicken Karahi, Shinwari Karahi and Amritsari Karahi. Alongside them are Lahori and White Handi, Achari Handi, Jalfrezi and Murgh Makhni.
For mutton, the Goat / Lamb Curry section runs from Mutton Karahi and Sulemani Karahi to Kunna, Bhuna Gosht and Dum Pukht. For a bigger occasion there is a 1 kg Mutton Leg Roast.
Almost every curry comes in half and full portions. A half Chicken Karahi is Rs 1,130 and a full is Rs 1,790.
If you came for BBQ
The Charcoal Grill section is as long as the curry list, with 15 items. Start with chicken tikka by the piece, then choose from malai, kastoori, Rajasthani and Mughlai boti, reshmi kabab or banjara kabab.
For groups, the BBQ Platter does the choosing for you: kabab, malai boti, kastoori boti, shashto boti, kalmi tikka and chicken boti. It comes in a size for four (Rs 3,050) or six (Rs 4,580).
Rice and biryani
Aangan Special, Chicken, Hyderabadi and Sindhi biryani are all on the menu, along with Chicken Pulao and Mutton Afghani Pulao.
For the Chinese and continental table
The Chinese side covers Dragon Chicken, Kung Pao, Manchurian and Mongolian chicken, with fried rice, chowmein and chop suey in half and full sizes. The continental side has seven steaks, English shashlik such as Barcelona and Tarragon Chicken, and two pastas: Pesto Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo.
Seafood
Grilled fish and fish tikka come in half and full portions. There are also finger fish, sesame fish, butter-fried jumbo prawns, Aangan Special fried prawns, and Lahori and Behari fish handi.
Vegetarian, breads and sides
Vegetarian guests can order Daal Maash, Mix Vegetable or a Vegetable Bowl. The breads run from plain roti and roghni naan to garlic, achari and chicken cheese naan. Raita and salads, including the Special Aangan Salad Platter, round out the table.
Something sweet, and a cup of chai
The Sweets section is short: Gulab Jamun and Kheer Khaas. Finish with tea, a cappuccino or a fresh lime.
Tips for ordering as a group
- Order half portions of two or three curries instead of one full one, so everyone gets to try more.
